BA, BS and BFA: what the award tells you
A Bachelor of Fine Arts usually devotes a larger share of credits to studio and production work; a Bachelor of Arts balances the major with broader liberal-arts study; some schools award a Bachelor of Science for film or cinema. The award alone does not tell you how much hands-on production a program includes — compare the published curriculum.
Some schools admit students into the film major in their first year, others after a portfolio review or once prerequisite courses are complete. Transfer and degree-completion routes are shown on each program when the school publishes them.
